My 2025 Annual Review
For several years now, I’ve been inspired by James Clear and his approach to doing Annual Reviews. Each year, I dedicate time to reflect, evaluate, and plan for the future using a combination of resources that help me stay focused and organized.
Here’s what I use for my reviews:
- Template by Ness Labs – A comprehensive tool for structured reflections. Also, check the presentation for more details.
- Simplified version by James Clear – A concise framework to assess what went well, what didn’t, and what to focus on moving forward.
Combining these resources allows me to see the bigger picture while staying grounded in actionable steps for improvement. The process not only helps me track my progress but also inspires clarity and motivation as I enter the new year.
What Went Well
This year had a lot of quiet but meaningful progress.
- Finished, edited, and published my book
- Launched CapoeiraWiki publicly
- Launched JimRohn.ru
- Relaunched my personal website
- Became a noticeably better speaker:
- 4 public talks
- 5–6 podcast recordings
- 42 short videos
- 3 books on speaking
- almost one full course completed
- Read 41 books over the year
- Worked on Thai: online courses, typing practice, Anki
- Improved my Portuguese: books, series, a course — and finally broke the language barrier
- Stopped consuming news and significantly reduced YouTube (both news and entertainment)
→ more time for books, courses, and learning - Improved my health:
- 7–8 hours of sleep consistently
- found a sustainable eating routine (–6–7 kg)
- trained almost daily
- ~3 liters of water per day
- Got serious about investing:
- completed 4 courses
- read 2 books
- diversified my portfolio
- wrote a clear investment plan
- Traveled 8 times with my family:
- Thailand (Krabi, Surat Thani, Bangkok, Ayutthaya)
- China
- Taiwan
What Didn’t Go So Well
Not everything moved forward as planned — and that’s okay.
- Didn’t relaunch Magazeta
- Dropped Thai again after a good start
- Didn’t make it to Brazil
- Still haven’t removed my wisdom tooth
- Didn’t bring XXXXX to a public release
- Shared too little of my work and creativity publicly
- Played berimbau and other instruments far less than I wanted
What I’m Working Toward
Clarity matters more than ambition. These are my focus areas going forward:
- Build and grow a personal brand
- Set up sustainable passive income streams
- Relaunch Magazeta
- Finally remove that wisdom tooth
- Plan a trip to Brazil
- Share more creative work publicly
- Record the audiobook version of my book and launch a podcast
- Build a sustainable daily routine around CapoeiraWiki
- Find my personal style and rethink my wardrobe
- Take a public speaking & leadership course (Conor Neill)
I don’t believe in radical resets on January 1st.
I believe in direction, systems, and showing up consistently.
Onward.
