The Shanghai Center for Capoeira

Founder

Capoeira schools network in China and wechat-media Movement Family, which is the first online magazine about capoeira and movement culture in Chinese.

We prepare new teachers and teach capoeira to children and adults in our studio “Jogo Space” in Shanghai. Promote capoeira in China through social media (WeChat, Douban) and video services (Douyin, Red). We cooperate with international schools, organize seminars and online courses around China.

Bumafan.ru was founded by Olga Merekina and Alexander Maltsev in 2010. At first it was a service for finding interpreters in China, which later became a digital agency for the creation and promotion of web-products for Chinese market. Among our clients were Aeroflot, Rosatom, Sberbank, Sotheby’s International Realty, logistics companies, and government agencies.

Independent Researcher and columnist, 2017–2020

A personal recommendations service and media platform created by Yandex.

I worked closely with the Yandex.Zen team, conducted research on the Chinese market, and organized meetings with partners in China. I wrote a column in the “Yandex.Zen Magazine” and telegram channel “Yandex.Zen Kitchen”.

Alibaba Group, AliExpress Russia

Marketing Expert, 2014—2017

AliExpress is an online retail service based in China and owned by the Alibaba Group.

I started as a marketing specialist for the newly formed AliExpress. In a small team, I was in charge of marketing for the Russian market: planning sales, buying traffic, SMM, SEM, and SEO.

After two promotions, I led the team that developed the “Mall” (later renamed Tmall Russia) and organized online sales on the Russian version of AliExpress, including the biggest annual event – Shopping Festival on November 11 (“Singles Day”).

Aviasales, JetRadar

Country Manager (China), 2011–2012

Aviasales is a travel metasearch platform with a monthly audience exceeding 15 million users.

I was a business development manager in China. My responsibilities included: signing and integrating Chinese partners and travel agencies, marketing, PR and localization.

Our team launched the Chinese version of the Aviasales flight search engine – 爱飞搜. I have successfully signed agreements with Ctrip, eLong, 9588.com, Shangyou Travel, Lecheng, Amargo, Skytours and Agoda.
